About the Role

The Paramedic role is integral to the delivery of emergency and non-emergency care within
frontline and event medical settings. You will be responsible for providing rapid, high-quality clinical care to patients in a variety of environments. Working as part of a multidisciplinary team, you will utilise your expertise to assess, treat, and transport patients, ensuring the best possible
outcomes.

You will also be expected to lead clinical decision-making and support the
professional development of colleagues. This role offers a fantastic opportunity to build upon your NHS experience while working in a dynamic and varied setting.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

● Respond to emergency and non-emergency calls, ensuring patients receive high-quality, evidence-based care.
● Transport, assess, and attend to patients in accordance with CMC policies, JRCALC
guidelines, and local protocols.
● Act as the senior clinician when working with a lower clinical grade, maintaining full
responsibility for patient care.
● Drive emergency and non-emergency vehicles safely, legally, and in line with CMC driving
policies, prioritising patient comfort and vehicle longevity.
● Maintain accurate documentation of patient care, vehicle checks, and equipment use, submitting reports as required.
● Take relevant patient information from carers or bystanders, ensuring effective communication with hospitals and healthcare professionals.
● Recognise and report safeguarding concerns, social care issues, or environmental risks.
● Participate in infection prevention and control measures, maintaining cleanliness of vehicles, equipment, and medical supplies.
● Conduct pre-shift and in-shift vehicle and equipment checks, ensuring operational
readiness.
● Engage in continuous professional development (CPD), keeping up to date with the latest clinical guidelines and skills.
● Assist in training and mentoring junior team members where required.
● Perform any additional duties as required within the scope of your qualifications and
responsibilities.

Requirements

Essential:


  • Current HCPC registration as a Paramedic.

  • Minimum 24 months of post-qualification frontline NHS ambulance experience.

  • Experience in managing bariatric, paediatric, and neonatal patients.

  • Full UK driving licence (maximum of 6 penalty points).

  • Minimum 12 months’ driving experience since obtaining a full UK driving licence.

  • Physically fit and capable of manual handling duties.

  • Strong interpersonal and leadership skills, able to communicate

  • effectively with patients, colleagues, and healthcare professionals.

  • Ability to prioritise tasks, manage workloads effectively, and remain calm in high-pressure situations.

  • Commitment to delivering high-quality patient care and

  • ensuring positive patient experiences.

  • Willingness to learn, adapt, and undertake further training as required.


Desirable:


  • Relevant post-registration qualification (e.g., ALS, PHTLS, or similar).

  • IHCD or FutureQuals emergency ambulance driving qualification.

  • Experience working in event medical services or private ambulance settings.
