Advanced Workplace First Aid Training
Our Three-Day First Aid at Work (FAW) course is available to businesses and organisations across Cheshire, Liverpool, Wirral, Chester, Ellesmere Port and the surrounding areas, delivered at your workplace or another suitable venue.
The course combines essential knowledge with extensive practical learning, helping participants build the confidence to assess casualties, make appropriate decisions and provide effective care until further medical assistance is available.
It is particularly suited to larger workplaces, higher-risk industries and organisations where a more comprehensive level of first aid capability is required.

Comprehensive First Aid Skills

The course gives learners the opportunity to develop skills across a wide range of workplace emergencies, spread across two qualification units.
Emergency first aid:

Roles and responsibilities of a first aider

Safe incident and scene assessment

CPR and safe use of an AED
-
Choking
-
Managing an unresponsive, breathing casualty and the recovery position

Seizures
-
External bleeding and shock, including the optional catastrophic bleeding module (wound packing and tourniquet use)

Minor injuries: cuts, grazes, bruises, splinters, nosebleeds and minor burns/scalds
Recognition and management of illness and injury:

Chest injuries

Asthma

Eye injuries
-
Anaphylaxis
-
Heart attack and angina

Stroke

Burns and scalds

Poisoning

Fractures, dislocations, sprains and strains, including application of slings

Head and spinal injuries

Secondary survey (head-to-toe casualty assessment)
